  3. Freedom

“Men fight for freedom, then they begin to accumulate laws to take it away from themselves.”
    ~Author Unknown~

I agree because for people to receive freedom you need to fight for your freedom never have someone else fight for what you can do.
    ~Luis Hinojos~

    Oppression

“Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave, I am the dream and the hope of the slave. I rise. I rise. I rise.”
    ~Maya Angelou, “Still I Rise,” And Still I Rise~

I agree with this quote because in the past they treated slaves really badly.

  4. “There can be no real freedom without the freedom to fail.”
    – Erich Fromm
I agree because it shows that if we are punished for failing, we will never be free. That means that if we don’t fail, we don’t learn from mistakes. That is why we must learn from mistakes and not be punished for them.

“The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people.” -Martin Luther King, Jr.
I agree because this qoate shows that if we do not act out, and speak out at oppression, we will suffer. We must speak out, or the people who are hit by it the hardest will suffer the most. W e must not allow oppression to oppress us, we must overcome it.

    • I agree with this quote, because I think that when we do something wrong, we must learn from mistakes and we can get more freedom.

  5. FREEDOM
“Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.”
    Author: Abraham Lincoln
I agree with this quote because it says no one deserves freedom to who ever takes away people.
    OPPRESSION
“You can’t hold a man down without, staying down with him.”
    Author: Booker T. Washington
I agree with this statement because its saying that if someone makes someone sad they might become sad as will.

  6. “He who is brave is free.”
    By:Seneca
I agree with Seneca because if you are not brave enough you will never get what you want. You have to be brave to to be free or never give up.
“No oppression is so heavy or lasting as that which is inflicted by the perversion and exorbitance of legal authority.”
    By:Joseph Addison
I agree with him because oppression is bad thing and don’t let it get you done. oppression is nothing good for people…

  7. “Freedom in general may be defined as the absence of obstacles to the realization of desires.” – Bertrand Russel
I agree with this quote because sometimes we think that freedom is when there are no obstacles in our lives and we realize what our true desires are. Even when there is no trouble whithin us, there is someone holding on to you. There is always someone watching you but when our true desire is to have freedom we do what we can to achieve it.

“The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people.” -Martin Luther King Jr. this quote is very true because no matter how oppressed one person can be, it all depends on the good people that stay silent. And he also said that those who are oppressed don’t stay oppressed forever.

  8. Freedom
“Man is free at the moment he wishes to be”
    quoted by voltaire.
This quote means that man is free when he wants to be emotionaly and physicaly. If he wants to be free hard enough it shall happen, if not physicaly than spiritually. I agree with this because thats what I do when I feel stressed I like to free myself to feel at peace.
    Oppression
“Oppressed people can not remain opressed forever”
quoted by martin luther king jr
This quote means that the peole that are being treated this why they one day will be set free. They can’t be oppressed for all eternity. I agree with this because I belive when you’re truly at peace no one can opress you.

  9. “The best road to progress is freedom’s road.”
    -John F. Kennedy

I agree with this quote becuase before you have to have progress to have freedom. Like, if we want to go somewhere we have to have progress in grades before the freedom. If you want the freedom you have to take care of business first.

“~ All oppression creates a state of war. ~ ”
    Simone de Beauvoir

I agree with this quote because we fight for freedom. Many wars go on because of the freedom issues. Some people just dont understand what its like to have it taken.

  10. “We have a right, also, in various ways, to act upon our unfavorable opinion of anyone, not to the oppression of his individuality, but in the exercise of ours.”

  11. Freedom:

“Our greatest happiness does not depend on the condition of life in which chance has placed us, but is always the result of a good conscience, good health, occupation, and freedom in all just pursuits” – Thomas Jefferson

I agree with this quote because you don’t have to be doing great in life to enjoy everything about it. Treat everyday as it is your last and dream as you will live forever, don’t take anything in your life for granted. As long as you have a goal in life you will strive to achieve it and maybe take that dream even further.

    Oppersion:

“All the miseries and evils which men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery and war, proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible” – Noah Webster

I strongly agree with this quote and I interpet this quote in saying that the bible has wrned you and you should heed is warning. Crime is not good and we should learn from the past mistake…after all if we don’t learn from history then history shall repeat itself. Slavery is probably the worst thing that has ever been created and we should feel ashamed that our world created such a horrible thing. War is the worst of all…we have people fighting just because they may think diffrently then us, that doesn’t mean we should just go around deploying men and women just to prove we are the strongest, the world will learn, but who says we will learn in time…!!!

  13. “A brief candle; both ends burning
An endless mile; a bus wheel turning
A friend to share the lonesome times
A handshake and a sip of wine
So say it loud and let it ring
We are all a part of everything
The future, present and the past
    Fly on proud bird
    You’re free at last.”
    -Charlie Daniels

I agree with Charlie Daniels everyone must be free. As he says “we are all a part of everything”. I agree so much with that. Nobody should be pushed out because they are different.
    -Courtnie Gunn

“If particular care and attention is not paid to the ladies, we are determined to foment a rebellion, and will not hold ourselves bound by any laws in which we have no voice or representation.”
    -Abigail Adams

Even though we (women) have a ammendment in the Constituion. We still don’t always get treated the way men do. Some people think that women are no good for nothing trash. That we just have to stay home and cook and clean and take care of the childern. Well we are better than that. We deserve better than that. We can do the same thing that men can do. Everyone even women should be treated the same way.
    -Courtnie Gunn.

  14. “Opressed people cannot remain opressed forever.”-Martin Luther King Jr. I strongly agree with this quote. I believe a person has the choice of being held back both physically and mentally. A positive attitude or outlook on any situation can help a person find a solution to their problems. Being held back can make a person stronger; When you are held back phisically, you are given more time to grow mentally.

  17. Freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed – else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die. ~Dwight D. Eisenhower..Dwight is saying that

  18. “Liberty is the possibility of doubting,of making a mistake,…of searching and experimenting,…of saying No to any authority -literally, artistic, philosophical, religious, social, and even political.” I agree with this quote because I also believe freedom is being able to make mistakes. Liberty should not be a privilege or only be allowed to certain people. If society had no freedom, there would be no society. We have to realize that nobody is perfect, we’re only human.
