From a book quote to experience

"Prohibition whets the appetite," concludes Galeano in The Origins after describing how several kings of England tried to outlaw soccer. All attempts to ban the game failed. With legal restrictions in place, people of the land - the mortals - wanted to experience the thrills of soccer even more.
Every person, after searching his or her past, will find a moment when the attraction of the forbidden fruit was too much to resist. When I was a student, we were not allowed to wear mascara to school. Now I remember, with embarassment, how we applied make-up by a pound for a Saturday dance. While enjoying the adrenaline rush, we did not realize how rediculous we looked with distorted faces.

  7. An example of “Prohibition whets the appetite” can be my case when I wanted to play soccer but i couldn’t. My parents didn’t let me play because I have to be in home to take care of it, but I wanted to play anyway. Sometimes I scaped a couple of hours to played soccer and when I played soccer, I felt like it was my last time playing, it was so wonderful and unforgettable.
